Twelve students and faculty from Dublin School recently represented the school in the Ragnar Reach the Beach relay, a 204-mile team race beginning at the base of the White Mountains and finishing at Hampton Beach. The team completed the course in just over 29 hours, marking Dublin’s 12th consecutive year of participation.
Coordinator Holly Macy reflected on students’ enthusiasm for the event, noting that many participants don’t consider themselves runners. She said that year after year, students sign up to rise early, forgo sleep and pound pavement through the night. She said there is always a waiting list to join Dublin’s Reach the Beach team and that she believes students are drawn to the teamwork and shared challenge that define the experience.
