In the aftermath of fire

In the aftermath of a fire, we took a pause to realize how fortunate and grateful we are to our family, neighbors, friends, and fire responders for their care, speed, and love. Waking to the noise of chickens sounding the fire alarm was astonishing. Having our closest family and neighbors in the mix as the water from the fire truck hose took over (within 20 minutes of my call) was an overwhelming exhibition of human kindness and caring. It is easy to get caught in the โ€œwhat ifsโ€ in the hours and days that followed, but those thoughts that could take one down a bad rabbit hole were completely alleviated in the โ€œwhat did happenโ€ and how grateful we are for the outcome. Thank you to all who showed up or sent messages, or even sent good thoughts. It is a wonderful experience to belong to a community like ours, surrounded by people who know each other and show their true human kindness and help in times of need. God bless you all.
A massive thank you to our fire departments and water trucks: Dublin, Jaffrey, Peterborough, New Ipswich, Keene and any others I may have missed.
