The ConVal girls varsity soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at John Stark on Tuesday afternoon. The Generals struck early, converting a penalty kick in the third minute to take the lead. They controlled possession for much of the game, limiting ConVal’s opportunities in the attacking third. The Cougars held defensively until the final 10 minutes, when a ball misplayed near midfield allowed a Stark striker to break free and score. ConVal’s best looks came on occasional forays forward, but they were unable to create clear chances against a steady Stark back line.
