The Monadnock Conservancy will recognize four local residents for their contributions to conservation at its 36th Annual Celebration on Thursday, Sept. 18, from 5-7 p.m. at The Showroom, 20 Commercial St., Keene. The event is free with registration available online.
Peter Kenyon of Dublin will receive the Founder’s Award for his longtime leadership on the Conservancy’s Board of Trustees. A former U.S. Environmental Protection Agency attorney, Kenyon has served as both vice president and president of the board.
Dr. Jacqueline Lyon of Harrisville will be named Volunteer of the Year for her work digitizing land protection records. A retired oncologist, Lyon has been an active supporter of conservation in the Monadnock region.
Michael and Kathy Nerrie of Walpole will receive the Philip Faulkner Award for their work at Distant Hill Garden and Nature Trail, a nonprofit offering accessible trails, wetlands pollinator gardens and educational programs.
