U.S. Rep. Maggie Goodlander met with more than 80 residents at a community event hosted by the Hillsborough Democratic Committee on Tuesday, Aug. 26, at Stonewall Farm Bed & Breakfast Barn in Hillsborough.
Attendees came from Hillsborough, Antrim, Bennington, Bradford, Deering, Greenfield, Hancock, Lyndeborough, Weare and Francestown.
Goodlander spoke for more than two hours, answering questions and encouraging attendees to stay engaged in local and national politics. She emphasized voter registration, participation at the polls and open communication with those holding differing views.
Addressing economic challenges, she noted that the high costs of child care, housing, food and transportation often keep people from participating in civic life, including local government.
Goodlander encouraged residents to connect with her Concord office, visit her website and sign up for her newsletter.
