The Monadnock WindowDressers program is preparing for its fall community build and is seeking both orders and volunteers. The deadline to request window measurements is Sept. 12.
WindowDressers creates custom pine-and-poly inserts designed to reduce drafts, conserve heat and lower energy costs. The Monadnock chapter, which serves the ConVal and Conant region, is seeking about 50 more insert orders to meet this yearโs quota. At least 25 percent of inserts are donated or offered for a small contribution to households in need. Organizers encourage anyone struggling with heating costs to apply.
Assembly will take place Oct. 16 through Oct. 22 at the Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church. Homeowners who order inserts are asked to assist in the assembly process, which is designed to be simple and accessible for all ages. The group is also recruiting additional volunteers to help with building, meal preparation and set-up during the weeklong event.
