Sunday, Aug. 31, the Monadnock Mushroom Club and Monadnock Bird and Nature Club will lead a joint outing at Drummer Hill Conservation Area in Keene, meeting at the Timberland Drive entrance.
The free event, led by Patrick Joyce and Nate Marchessault, will combine mushroom collecting with a bird and nature walk. Club naturalists will help identify finds and discuss local ecosystems.
Participants should bring a basket or paper bag for collecting, water and insect repellent, and be prepared for light but moderately strenuous walking.
The Monadnock Mushroom Club focuses on mushroom education through forays and events, and the Bird and Nature Club offers activities that connect people with the environment.
