Louisa Holcombe is this year’s winner of the GEP Dodge Library Summer Reading Program’s Masonic Bikes for Books award. Holcombe received a new bicycle and helmet from Masons Jon Manley, Ralph Sommese, Bob Hamm and Chris Burke, representing Benevolent Lodge No. 7 of Milford and Pacific Lodge No. 45 of Francestown.
The Masonic Bikes for Books program, established in 1995, provides bikes and helmets through school and library reading programs to encourage children to read. GEP Dodge Library has participated since 2009.
To qualify, young patrons submitted short reviews of books they read during the library’s summer program. Each review was entered into a drawing held on the program’s final day.
Holcombe’s name was selected in the drawing, earning her the prize and recognition for her reading efforts.
