The J. Field Foundation held its annual charity golf tournament last Friday at Crotched Mountain Golf Club.
Foundation President, Jennifer Field of Peterborough, thanked golfers and sponsors for supporting her foundation’s mission to provide equine therapy sessions to veterans and youth living with traumatic brain injuries. Field sustained a traumatic brain injury while a student at the Dublin School, when the car she was driving slid on black ice, directly into an oncoming tractor trailer on Route 101 in Dublin.
First place winners, sponsored by The Waterhouse Restaurant in Peterborough, shot a 64. Players Moe Kelly, Josh King, Ron Record and Bill Duerig donated their winnings back to the foundation.
Other winners included Christy Vigue, who won the women’s longest drive, and Jim Stevens, who took the men’s longest drive. Closest-to-the-pin winners were Laura Gilman, Hunter Ledieux and Sydney Davis. A raffle prize of Red Sox tickets, donated annually by Henry Taves of Peterborough, also went to Vigue.
Jeff and Ruth Barker were platinum sponsors and Jill Quaglino was the premiere sponsor. Other sponsors included Danielle Edwardson, Stanley and Susan Trotman, Annabelle Polk, Edward Miller, Jennifer Ryan and Pete and Nancy Buck.
Volunteers welcomed golfers, sold raffle tickets and officiated the $10,000 hole in one contest.
“Because of the generosity of all of our sponsors and golfers, and volunteers, the J Field Foundation will award even more scholarships this year. We are already working on ways to grow the tournament next year, to help even more individuals, who like me, have the daily challenge of living with a traumatic brain injury,” Field said.
