JP Stohrer will perform blues and jazz on Sunday, Aug. 17, from 4 to 5 p.m. on the lawn of the Old Meeting House of Francestown, 1 New Boston Road, as part of the free โSundays at 4โ concert series.
Stohrerโs guitar style is shaped by early influences like Carlos Santana and Led Zeppelin, and later by B.B. King and George Benson. He has performed in New England clubs since his teens and now plays mostly for personal enjoyment, with occasional gigs and recording sessions. Stohrer also performs Celtic-inspired music with his wife, Pam, in Thistlewood Harp and Guitar.
Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic dinners, lawn chairs or blankets. In case of rain, the concert will move inside. The series runs through Aug. 24, when cellist Jacob MacKay will perform. The Old Meeting House annual meeting will be held at 3 p.m., before the concert.
