NRBQ will perform at The Park Theatre, 19 Main St., Jaffrey, on Sunday, Aug. 17, at 7 p.m. The show will feature Jaffrey resident Carl Querfurth, a longtime member of the bandโs Whole Wheat Horns, on trombone.
Formed in 1965, NRBQ โ the New Rhythm and Blues Quartet โ blends rock, pop, jazz, blues and Tin Pan Alley styles. The group has released more than 30 albums and is known for spontaneous, varied live performances. Current members are Terry Adams on keyboards, Scott Ligon on guitar, Casey McDonough on bass, John Perrin on drums and Querfurth on trombone.
Over the decades, NRBQ has collaborated with artists ranging from Carl Perkins to the Sun Ra Arkestra, and has been praised by Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello and Keith Richards. Their shows often include audience requests via their โMagic Boxโ routine.
