The Wilton Community Center will host a viewing of the annual Perseid meteor shower on Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 8 p.m. at Carnival Hill. The event is free and open to the public. The rain date is Thursday, Aug. 14.
Participants are encouraged to arrive at the lower field between 8 and 8:30 p.m. A brief discussion of meteors and visible constellations will take place as the sky darkens.
Attendees are advised to bring bug spray, blankets, lounge chairs, a flashlight and optional binoculars. The event is designed for friends and families to enjoy the meteor shower together in a relaxed setting.
