MAXT Makerspace will host the sixth annual Peterborough Night Market on Thursday, Aug. 8, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. in downtown Peterborough.
This yearโs theme, โClubbing in Peterborough,โ celebrates the small communities and shared interests that bring people together.
The event will feature 15 local clubs, including established groups like Kiwanis, Rotary and 100+ Women Who Care, and clubs curated by local artists and creatives. In partnership with the Peterborough Town Library, the community will also vote on forming a new club to serve as a lasting legacy of the event. Details are available at nightmarketpeterborough.com.
Headlining the main stage is Underground System, a New York City-based group blending afrobeat, punk and disco. The market area will showcase regional vendors offering everything from handmade jewelry and pottery to skateboards and art. Additional events include interactive art installations, a children’s zone with a petting zoo, face-painting and caricature artists.
Food options range from barbecue and Jamaican cuisine to vegan meals, pizza and desserts. A silent disco and outdoor bar will be set up on the Peterborough Town Library patio.
The Night Market is free and open to the public. For information, contact Roy Schlieben at roy@maxtmakerspace.org or 603-554-2459.
