The New Ipswich Historical Society will host an old-time New Hampshire country dance on Friday, Aug. 8, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Club at Oak Hill, 290 Old Country Road, as part of the townโs 275th anniversary celebration.
The dance will be called by Dudley Laufman, a longtime figure in traditional New England dance, with live music by Lizards in the Hayloft. The event honors a regional tradition where communities gathered for country dancing in barns, halls and open spaces.
Individuals, couples and families with children are all welcome. Admission is free, and donations are appreciated. Light refreshments will be served.
