Music at the Museum returns Saturday, July 26, at 1 p.m. on the lawn of the Rindge Historical Society, 24 School St., Rindge.
This monthโs featured performers are Kota, a Monadnock-area acoustic trio. A $5 donation is suggested at the door to support the museum. Desserts, light lunch refreshments and non-alcoholic drinks will be available. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. All are welcome.
Kota, formed in 2017, features Paul Belanger, Suzi Brumaghim and Laurie Donohue. The groupโs name comes from the Lakota word for โfriend.โ They perform acoustic Americana music from the 1960s through the 1980s along with original songs, emphasizing close vocal harmonies and guitar work.
Music at the Museum is organized by Ray Siekierski, Karla MacLeod and Mark Cantrill. Siekierski hosts and coordinates open mic performers. Cantrill handles sound, and MacLeod, president of the Historical Society, manages logistics and refreshments.
The open mic welcomes musicians, poets and spoken word artists of all ages. Performers are allotted up to 10 minutes or two selections. To sign up, send email to nooniekirk52@gmail.com.
Music at the Museum is held monthly from March through October at either the Rindge Meeting House or the Historical Society lawn. Future dates are Aug. 30 with Not Dead Yet, Sept. 27 with Rick Ekstrom and Oct. 25 with Andrew Lewis.
