Graphic novelist Mat Heagerty, author of “Lumberjackula” and “Unplugged and Unpopular,” will lead a free comic workshop for kids ages 7 to 13 at the Mansfield Public Library, 5 Main St., Temple, on Friday, July 11, at 11 a.m.

The one-hour session introduces the graphic novel creation process from idea to finished book. Depending on group size, Heagerty will lead either a live drawing and storytelling activity or a collaborative comic-writing session. A question-and-answer period will follow.

Heagerty has written several graphic novels for young readers and presents workshops across the country.

The program is part of the libraryโ€™s โ€œLevel Up at Your Libraryโ€ summer reading program.

Registration is encouraged. For information, call 603-878-3100.
