Temple celebrated Independence Day with activities, competitions and music on July 4.

The Temple Volunteer Fire Department rolled out โ€œAnnabelle,โ€ its antique fire engine, and kept people cool during a tug-of-war.

The Temple Band, which dates from 1799 and touts itself as the oldest town band in the nation, provided a soundtrack for the day, which was made possible through the volunteer efforts of the Temple Recreation Committee.
