A Greenville woman died after a crash on West Shore Road in Alexandria on July 4.

According to a release from State Police, at 5:39 p.m. on Friday, troopers assigned to the Troop F barracks responded to a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on West Shore Road in Alexandria at the Bristol town line. Preliminary investigation on the scene determined that Megan Bouchard, 25, of Greenville, was riding a red 2007 Ducati motorcycle northbound on West Shore Road when, for reasons that remain under investigation, the motorcycle did not negotiate a curve in the road and crashed.

Bouchard suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The southbound lane of West Shore Road remained closed for the duration of the roadside investigation. Troopers were assisted on the scene by members of the Bristol Police Department, the Bristol Fire Department and the Alexandria Fire Department.

While the preliminary investigation indicates that speed and alcohol may have contributed to the collision, all aspects of the crash remain under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the crash or who has information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Trooper Nathaniel Perkins at 603-451-9543 or nathaniel.c.perkins@dos.nh.gov.
