Every week when school is in session, we at End 68 Hours of Hunger send bags of groceries home from school with food-insecure children. That makes a big difference in their lives, but sometimes they need more. Families who don’t have enough money for food often don’t have enough for basic hygiene items either, and those are beyond the scope of our funding.
That’s where area businesses, dentists, and other individuals came in, donating everything from toothbrushes to the shampoo that went home recently with “our kids.” The American Heritage Girls initiated the project, collected body wash and assembled 240 bags with the support of Anthony DeBlassi, W.G. Ellerkamp, Dr. Kevin Fallon, Liz and Bill Littles, Wendy and Emma Millan, Monadnock Community Hospital, Monadnock Orthodontics, New Hampshire Ball Bearings, Our Town Dental and Peterborough Family Dental and Implant Center. Thanks so much to these generous donors for making life a little better for local kids who need so much.
