Jaffrey Public Library, 38 Main St., has been awarded a $14,000 Sustainable & Resilient New England Libraries Grant from the Association for Rural & Small Libraries through the Manton Foundation.
The grant will fund the installation of ADA-compliant drinking fountains and bottle-filling stations on the first two floors, replacing the library’s current use of bottled water and coolers. The project, which requires adjustments to old cast iron plumbing and drain heights, aims to provide a more economical and environmentally friendly solution.
“Clean drinking water should be easy to provide in a busy public building,” stated Library Director Julie Perrin. “This project encourages caring for the environment and is both green and economical.”
