The Dublin Community Center helped warm up a January afternoon by hosting a chili cook-off Saturday. Eight culinary contestants came to the DubHub from as far away as Manchester, with entrants from Antrim, Bennington and Dublin also serving up their best.
“We had about 50 people come in to do the taste testing,” stated Ruth Thompson of the DubHub. “There were seven tomato base chilis and one white chili,” said Thompson, the latter of which usually has chicken or turkey and white beans.
“The white chili stole the show,” said Thompson.
Margot Sprague’s white chili came out on top. The Dublin resident took home a medal, a chili hot pad and cash prize for her efforts.
“Many people asked if we would hold it again next year and several wanted to enter,” said Thompson. “It was a lot of fun.”
