During a recent meeting, The Kiwanis Club of Peterborough presented Gloria (Glo) Morison from Peterborough Food Pantry with a donation of $2,000 to support ongoing services.
The food pantry and its parent organization, Peterborough Area Community Aid, provide the ConVal, Conant, and Mascenic districts with community programs in the region also served by the Kiwanis group.
The Kiwanis Club of Peterborough raises funds to support local organizations and programs with a focus on children and families, including Children and the Arts, Monadnock Transitional Shelter, Cornucopia and Andyโs Summer Playhouse, as well as offering free lending library boxes for children.
The Kiwanis Clubโs primary fundraising is through its yard sales, held from spring until fall, featuring items ranging from furniture to housewares, artwork, and books. The group welcomes saleable goods donated from the community. The next yard sale will be held Oct. 12ย at Union Congregational Church in Peterborough.
Belletetes donates to food bank
Jaffrey-based Belletetesย donated almost 41,000 pounds of food collected from its 10 locations in New Hampshire and Massachusetts during August as part of its second food drive.
Belletetes had four trucks delivering the food to the New Hampshire Food Bank. The company also made a $5,000 donation.
