Antrim’s Fostering Community Conversations on Racial Justice group will begin discussing “Killers of the Flower Moon, the Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI,” by David Grann, at the next virtual meeting Thursday, May 16, at 6:30 pm.
The book is organized in three parts, and the group will discuss “Chronicle One: The Marked Woman.” at our May conversation. The group will continue with the second and third parts in June and July.
In this book, Grann explores historical events of the 1920s. Members of the wealthy Osage Nation in Oklahoma were being killed under mysterious and suspicious circumstances. The director of the newly created Federal Bureau of Investigation, J. Edgar Hoover, and a former Texas Ranger put together an undercover team to investigate the murders, and together with the Osage began to expose one of the most-chilling conspiracies in American history. This book was the inspiration for the recent film of the same name.
