On Friday, Feb. 9, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., the Mariposa Museum at 26 Main St. in Peterborough will host a death cafe organized and hosted by Death Cafe Monadnock.

Admission is free. Death cafes are agenda-free, group-led discussions that focus on death and dying in an open, supportive space. The discussions flow according to how the group dynamic directs it.

Friday’s event will be facilitated by Kay Kinderman, a death midwife, hospice LNA and living funeral practitioner. She has been facilitating death cafes for nearly three years. Although the death cafe is not a dedicated grief or bereavement resource, grief can be inseparable from speaking about death and dying, and is therefore welcome in the conversation.

Registration is required by sending email to Kinderman at deathcafemonadnock@protonmail.com. No one will be able to join the group after 5:10 p.m. due to the necessity of sharing group conversation guidelines.

Warm beverages will be provided, along with a small sweet treat.
