On Thursday, Dec. 7, at 6:30 p.m., the Mariposa Museum in Peterborough will present a performance by the vocal group Windborne at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 25 Main St. in Peterborough.

The concert follows a wassail reception at the Mariposa Museum, across the street from the church at 26 Main St.,ย from 5 to 6:15 p.m., included in the ticket price of $20 online before the day of the show and $25 day of the show. The reception offers visitors a chance to view the exhibit, “Stitching Time: The Social Justice Collaborative Quilts Project,” consisting of 20 quilts made by men serving life sentences at Louisiana State Penitentiary, otherwise known as “Angola” prison.

With a 20-year background studying polyphonic music around the world, Windborne members Lauren Breunig, Jeremy Carter-Gordon, Lynn Rowanย and Will Rowan shiftย between different styles of music. They are adherentsย to folk musicโ€™s longtime alliance with social activism, labor and civil rights, and other movements that champion the oppressed, the poor, and the disenfranchised.ย

Tickets are available online at mariposamuseum.org.ย
