The Children’s Museum of New Hampshire recently visited New Ipswich to teach children about animal habitats.
The program, titled “Amazing Animal Builders,” is part of the New Ipswich Library’s summer programs. Museum docents gave a presentation at Boynton Middle School, which allowed for a larger gathering of up to 40 children, who learned about the river ecosystem and visited four hands-on stations.
The program is sponsored by the Stearns-Burton Lecture Fund, and the library anticipates hosting a repeat of the program next year.
Upcoming programs for the New Ipswich Library include “Diamond Art for Kids,” scheduled for Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. Diamond art, also known as diamond painting or crystal art, uses small resin rhinestones of different colors, attached to a adhesive board to create mosaic-style artwork. This activity is most suitable for older children.
The library will be closed on Aug. 19, the day of the New Ipswich Congregational Church Children’s Fair.
On Aug. 25, at 11 a.m., the library has scheduled an end-of-summer reading party. Summer readers will earn prizes for submitting completed reading challenge sheets.
