The seventh annual Peterborough Art Walk in downtown Peterborough will be Saturday, July 1, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a rain date of Sunday, July 2.

The walk brings together more than 60 regional artists to show their work in person outdoors in Depot Park and Putnam Park. Work will include jewelry, pottery, watercolor, fabric, wood carving and oil painting.

The event will also include live music. Performing outside Tria Yoga is local duo Hot Mess, followed by Side Effects, the acoustic duo of Debbie Thompson and Bob Wright. Next will be Eyes of Age, who mixes original and cover songs.

Across the river in Depot Park, music will begin with the works of Alex Tkaczevski, a teacher, composer and pianist featuring tunes by Gershwin, Scott Joplin, McDowell and his own compositions. Following will be Folksoul Duo, playing American roots music including folk, oldies and 1930s jazz. Next up is melodic folks songs by Jack Hickey.

Along side the art walk this year will be the Kwackfest. The Monadnock Folklore Society is having a party celebrating Bob McQuillen and what would have been his 100th birthday. The event will celebrate his life and his contributions to the world of contra dance, to Peterborough, and to the Monadnock region. There will be music, dancing, stories and food.

This event is free and open to the public. Free parking is available downtown and in the Riverwalk parking. Masks are not required, and people can wear them at their personal discretion.
