The Monadnock Center for History and Culture, 19 Grove St. in Peterborough, presents a Lunch & Learn program, “Treasures from the Back Room,” Thursday, April 20, at noon.

The program explores six treasures from the center’s archives and museum collections. Spanning three centuries, each object tells a story from the past. Participants will learn the stories behind a map, a bowl and a wool cloak that helps explain life in the 18th century, a family portrait, an object that saved the life of one of Peterborough’s Civil War soldiers and a photograph collection that records life in the early 20th century.

Lunch & Learn begins with a light meal of pinwheel wrap sandwiches, salad and chips at noon. Following the meal, guests can have dessert with coffee or tea while listening to the talk.

Tickets are $18, $15 for Monadnock Center members. Tickets may be purchased online at monadnockcenter.org or by phone at 603-924-3235. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
