John Kieley is a candidate for our Temple Select Board. I support him and enthusiastically recommend his election.

Kieley is indisputably not only a distinguished member of the Temple community, his breadth of experience in town governance is unparalleled, making him uniquely qualified. His attention to Temple’s environmental, social, political and financial welfare is evidenced by his countless engagements in 23 years of residency. His resume is nothing short of a biography of what one man can do voluntarily for his community. Could that we all be such a servant.

His personal manner is measured, calm, insightful and thoughtful. He has shown a unique predilection to know why things are, not relying blindly on outside legal and administrative authority. He knows how to, and does, read the documents he is required to sign and policies he must implement. In many ways he is a quintessential executive. He has rarely if ever engaged in “ad hominem” attacks in spite of uncalled-for grievances against him. His integrity and loyalty to duty and obligation are unmatched.

Additionally, Kieley’s election is a necessary tonic to what is clearly now a “cozy club” of Temple selectman who have been “boarding” together far too long for their sound judgment and Temple’s welfare. A term limit for the current selectman running for re-election, Bill Ezell, is in order notwithstanding our genuine gratitude for the merits of his service.

Elect John Kieley, and give our environment, our policies, our finances and our wellbeing a new and distinguished life.
