Mark Munroe, a former firefighter and instructor, will be the next speaker in the Peterborough Town Library’s Peterborough Presents series Saturday, March 11, at 1 p.m. at the library, 2 Concord St.

Munroe spent 12 years riding along with the New York Fire Department and has worked as a certified fire instructor and assistant chief at Massport Fire. He recently published his book, “Senior Buff, A Memoir of a FDNY Fire Buff” about the hours he spent with the members of Hazmat 1, Engine 288, Rescue 4, Engine 292 and at the world’s busiest fire house, Engine 290 and Ladder 103 in East New York, Brooklyn.

Munroe will speak on his adventures and share stories and images of what it’s like to be a part of a large city fire department.

The Peterborough Presents series was created by the Peterborough Town Library to give local people a platform to share their expertise, creative work or skills with the public. For the full events schedule, go to peterboroughtownlibrary.org/peterboroughpresents.
