In a time when U.S. businesses are enjoying profits at a 50-year high, corporations have done nothing to alleviate the burden of inflation on U.S. citizens. Instead, they are fueling inflation.
As the beneficiaries of tax cuts under virtually every Republican administration, including at the state level in New Hampshire, corporations have the capacity — and should bear the responsibility — to adjust prices for goods and services to offset the impact of inflation. Instead, they are held to zero accountability while people who are food-insecure or in foreclosure are denied even a fraction of the protections government supplies corporations.
It is time to recognize the other “Big Lie,” which is that 40 years of trickle-down economics and tax cuts by Republicans have picked the pockets of everyday Americans. It is now time to elect Democrats, the party who puts people before unchecked corporate profits.
