PETERBOROUGHPeterborough Folk Music Society presents Pierre Bensusan

Peterborough Folk Music Society presents French guitarist Pierre Bensusan Thursday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. at The Spinning Room in the Granite Mill, 71 Main St., Harrisville.

Bensusan’s 2020 North American tour was in full swing when the pandemic shut it down, causing him to return home to France. During his career, he has combined shadings of jazz, Latin, Celtic, pop, world music and classical melodies, free and fusion styles.

Born in 1957 in French Algeria, Bensusan released his debut album “Près de Paris” in 1975 at the age of 17. It won Le Grand Prix du Disque at the Montreux Festival in Switzerland in 1976. His triple album “Encore” won the Grand Prix of the Independent Music Awards in the category Best Live Album.

He has sold a half-million albums and given thousands of concerts around the globe, both solo and through numerous collaborations.

Tickets are $25, and are available online at pfmsconcerts.org/concert/debs/pierre-bensusan-paris-france-evening-pierre-bensusan-presenting-azwan-102722. For information, visit pfmsconcerts.org, call 603-827-2905 or send email to deb@pfmsconcerts.org.
