The Thursday Listen & Lunch series at Depot Park in downtown Peterborough has been extended by a week, as Walden Whitham, whose June 9 performance was canceled, will play Thursday, Sept. 1, from noon to 1 p.m.

Whitham has been active for many years in the area as an educator, a member of several bands, including Folksoul, Tattoo, Wendy Keith and Her Alleged Band and The Everyday Blues Band on sax, flute, clarinet, folk harp and vocals; and singer and soloist with the Monadnock Chorus and Keene Choral. He also appeared regularly as a solo performer at Sunflowers Cafe and other venues.

Whitham will be playing primarily on the folk harp, although he may include a little guitar and winds, as he performs original songs and a variety of American and British Isles folk tunes.
