James A. Tuttle Library, 45 Main Street, Antrim, will present “That the People May Live – The Life and Legacy of Nicholas Black Elk, Holy Man of the Lakota” with Damian Costello Thursday, Sept. 8, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Costello is an international expert on the life and legacy of Nicholas Black Elk and the author of “Black Elk: Colonialism and Lakota Catholicism.” This lecture explores the life and legacy of Nicholas Black Elk (c.1866-1950), the Lakota holy man made famous by the book “Black Elk Speaks.”
This is a New Hampshire Humanities event and is free and open to the public.
