The board of ConVal Community Dollars for Scholars (CVCDFS) awarded scholarships to 2022 ConVal graduates for the upcoming college year, based on goals, financial needs and life challenges.

Elli Ward of Peterborough won the John F. Vance scholarship in the amount of $12,000. Ward will attend the University of Maryland, where she will pursue studies in psychology and social work.

The Ken Christian Memorial Scholarship, funded in part by Bellows-Nichols Insurance in the amount of $10,000, was awarded to Corey Guzman of Antrim. Guzman will attend the University of New Hampshire, and plans to study history and education.

One of three CVCDFS general scholarships, funded in part by the Peterborough Garden Club, in the amount of $8,000 was awarded to Sabrina Leahigh of Antrim. Leahigh will attend Moorehead State in Kentucky, where she will pursue studies in veterinary science.

The second CVCDFS Scholarship, funded in part by the Martha Scott Memorial Fund in the amount of $8,000, was awarded to Miriam Turner of Bennington. Turner will attend Jacksonville University in Florida, where she plans to study marine biology.

The third CVCDFS Scholarship in the amount of $8,000 was awarded to Jocelyn Coty of Hancock. Coty will be attending the University at Buffalo, where she will pursue studies in graphic design.

ConVal Community Dollars for Scholars (CVCDFS) awards scholarships to ConVal district students who may not have the opportunity to attend college due to personal challenges and financial issues.
