According to Bennington Building Inspector John Kendall, a new storage facility is planned for the recently cleared lot next to the Dollar General on Route 202.
Kendall said building permits are being issued now, and that construction may begin later this year, although the project won’t be finished until sometime in 2023. The facility will be a total of 42,000 square feet, although the details of the project and the exact number of planned units is unknown at this time.
Kendall said the project is currently being held up by delays in approvals from the Department of Environmental Services, but will move forward once all the necessary approvals are in place.
The owner of the project, David Blanchette, declined to comment at this time.
