In a joint effort to illustrate the ways local citizens can reduce their carbon footprints through home improvements, MAXT Makerspace and the Peterborough Renewable Energy Planning (PREP) Team are starting a series of talks at the monthly Repair Café event.
The first talk, “You Can’t Manage What You Haven’t Measured” will be Saturday, June 11, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at MAXTMakerspace at 49 Vose Farm Road, Suite 110, Peterborough. The talk, by PREP member Margaret Dillon, takes a look at the first steps homeowners need to take, which better understanding how much energy they are using.
For more than 40 years, Dillon has had experience with all facets of commercial and residential buildings – design, construction and property management — with an eye for energy efficiency and sustainable building practices. Since 2006, she has been being doing business as Sustainable Energy Education and Demonstration Services (S.E.E.D.S.); a private and independently owned energy consulting practice.
During her talk, Dillon will discuss quantifying a building’s energy intensity and steps to prioritize energy efficiency and conservation before taking questions. The talk is free and open to the public.
