“Our House Made of Dreams” a collection of works by Sally Keller, is on display in the display cases at Jaffrey Civic Center, 40 Main St. in Jaffrey.
In addition to drawings and paintings, the exhibit features prose, quotes from the artist and artifacts from the home which inspired the display. According to Keller, “In a way, this art with poetry show has been 46 years in the making. This hand-built house started by taking two barns down and moving all that wood to a woodlot here in Jaffrey Center that had been in the family since 1903. Inspired by Carl Larsson’s house in Sweden, 13th- to 18th-century Scandinavian and Swiss alpine architecture and Frank Lloyd Wright’s ideas of relating a house to a landscape, we imagined and designed and built this ‘work of art.’”
The exhibit will be on display until June 11. The artist invites the public to a reception Friday, May 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Jaffrey Civic Center.
