The “Journey to Bethlehem” tour, a Hancock Christmas tradition returned this year, with the story of the birth of Jesus presented outdoors along Main Street in downtown Hancock Sunday.

Groups started from the Hancock Vestry on self-guided tours in search of the newborn child. The travelers meandered “through Bethlehem” and followed the star to the inn. They encountered King Herod and his guard, visited an encampment of shepherds tending their sheep and met a Magi before entering the manger to honor the Christ child, surrounded by angels and singing.

The journey was sponsored by the First Congregational Church of Hancock and was mostly outdoors. Groups took turns entering the manger scene and masks were provided and required for the final portion of the walkthrough.
