Monadnock United Way (MUW) exceeded its $20,000 goal and raised $41,650 in donor contributions and matching funds on GivingTuesday, Nov. 30.

“We are so grateful for the amazing generosity of everyone on GivingTuesday,” stated Karen Peterson, general campaign co-chair of the Stronger Together Campaign. “These donations will go right back into our community to help children, individuals and families most in need in the Monadnock Region.”ย ย 

The United Way thanks those who donated to the matching grant pool: Carlisle Wide Plank Flooring, Clark Mortenson, Prime Roast Coffee Company, Stebbins Spectacular Painting, the MUW Board of Directors, Ken and Carol Jue and the individuals and businesses who contributed on GivingTuesday.

Donations will help provide emergency housing assistance through the Cheshire Countyย Emergency Housing Collaborative for 377ย residents, help provide fresh food at seven collaborating pantries across the region, serving 1,500ย Monadnock Region residentsย per week; help provide care and educationย at localย child careย centers for 268ย families; and provideย 1,038 families with home visiting,ย parental education programs andย engagement activities that bolster child developmentย through the Monadnock Alliance for Families.

All gifts made during GivingTuesday go toward the Stronger Together annual campaign. The goal this year is $1.46 million, and people have contributed $974,056 so far. The campaign ends Dec. 31. Visit muw.org forย information or to donate.
