The Wilton-Lyndeborough Cooperative School Board expects to fill a vacant Wilton representative seat after its next meeting.

Wilton representative Mark Legere resigned the board, effective July 1.

During its meeting Tuesday, School Board Chair Alex Loverme said there had been four letters of interest submitted to the board to fill the seat until the next March election. Legereโ€™s term expires in 2022.

By state law, in a cooperative school district, remaining members representing the same town or towns as the departed member vote on the appointment, as long as there are at least two representatives from that town remaining on the board.

School Board members Loverme, Tiffany Cloutier-Cabral, Jim Kofalt and Matt Mannarino currently represent Wilton and will vote on Legereโ€™s replacement.

The board did not make a decision on Legereโ€™s replacement on Tuesday, agreeing to extend an invitation to the interested parties to attend the next board meeting so the board could meet them and ask questions.

Legere was a representative of the School Boardโ€™s sub-committee on policy. Board member Cloutier-Cabral volunteered to take Legereโ€™s place on the committee, and member Brianne Lavallee agreed to be chair.
