A Peterborough woman was airlifted with critical injuries after a car crash in Keene involving a tractor-trailer truck on Wednesday afternoon.

Keene police responded to the intersection of Route 12 North and Wyman Road at 3:30 p.m., where Autumn DuVerger, 24, of Peterborough, was trapped in her vehicle, according to a public release by the Keene Police Department.

DuVerger had been driving a 2018 Kia Sportage when she turned left from Wyman Road onto Route 12 South, colliding with a northbound tractor trailer driven by Christopher Jones, 39, of Oxford, North Carolina. First responders managed to remove DuVerger from her vehicle and take her to Cheshire Medical Center, from which she was life-flighted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Hanover with critical injuries, according to police. Jones was also taken to Cheshire Medical Center as a precaution.

Police closed the highway for three-and-a-half hours for a collision investigation. โ€œThere is no indication that speed or alcohol/drug impairment were factors in this collision,โ€ police said, but the crash remains under investigation and any witnesses may contact Lieutenant Jason Short or Detective Lippincott of the Keene Police Department at 357-9820.
