Days before their high school counterparts receive their diplomas, Jaffrey-Rindge graduating middle schoolers participate in their own graduation celebration.
The Jaffrey-Rindge Middle School eighth graders will mark their transition from middle school to high school on June 16, at 5 p.m. The event is scheduled to be held outdoors at the track and athletic complex, but will be moved to the Pratt Auditorium if there is inclement weather.
With 120 students making up the graduating class, the district has advised COVID-19 guidelines will still be enforced, and the number of guests allowed will be limited to ensure there is enough space for social distancing, with each student allowed two guests. If the event is moved indoors, no guests will be allowed. The ceremony will be livestreamed, whether it is held indoors or outdoors, for those who cannot attend.
In addition to limited guests, those who attend must follow School Board policy regarding COVID-19 guidelines, including grouping only with family, and maintaining six feet of distance from other groups. Masks donโt have to be worn when sitting at your seat, but must be worn when outside of that area, including while walking to the restroom or concessions areas.
Families must remain in their seats for the ceremony. Photographs of graduates will be taken by district staff, and free photos will be provided.
