Francestown Elementary School is going remote through Feb. 8 after a COVID-19 exposure left the school understaffed. ConVal reported a positive COVID-19 case in the Francestown Elementary School community Monday afternoon. In a message to school families, Superintendent Kimberly Rizzo Saunders said there were very few people identified as close contacts of the infected person, and all had been notified.

โ€œWhile there were very few individuals that were potentially exposed, we will be transitioning FES to remote learning because we are unable to properly staff FES for appropriate supervision of students,โ€ she wrote. The remote period startedย on Tuesday, Jan. 26ย  and will continue through Tuesday, Feb. 8. โ€œShould additional cases be identified we will need to establish a new date to return to in person learning,โ€ Rizzo Saunders wrote.ย ย
