The internationally renowned Matt Savage Trio will be performing jazz on Sunday, Aug. 30 at 4 pm on the Old Meeting House lawn in Francestown. Come and enjoy Matt Savage on piano with Soso Gelovani on bass and Zachary King on drums. They will be doing a mix of jazz standards and some of Savage’s own original compositions, especially those from his latest albums “Splash Variations” and “Matt Savage: Piano Voyages”. They might also throw in a pop surprise or two as well….

The concert will be outdoors on the Old Meeting House grounds and pandemic guidelines will be followed with distance seating. Please bring a chair and a mask. Tickets are$20.

Savage is a 28 year old accomplished jazz pianist and composer who grew up in Francestown. He taught himself to read music as a child and has played with some of the biggest names in jazz since first labeled a “jazz prodigy” at age 8, the same year he met and played piano for Dave Brubeck.

Savage has had an 19-year professional career as a jazz musician, leader and composer with ensembles of different size including his own Matt Savage Trio. He has played with some of the biggest names in jazz and has been a guest of numerous television and radio programs such as the Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Today Show, and All Things Considered.

Along the way, he has recorded 13 albums as leader and one as collaborator. He is a Bösendorfer piano artist.

A graduate of the Berklee College of Music with a B.M. in Performance (Piano) and of the Manhattan School of Music with an M.M. in Jazz Performance (Piano), Savage balances his professional music career with teaching.
