Four Crotched Mountain School staff members tested positive for COVID-19 over the past two weeks, Marketing and Communications Vice President David Johnson said Tuesday.
“All exposure was traced to community transmission and not from the Greenfield campus,” he said. “There are no residents, students or adults, that have tested positive. The campus remains healthy and we have not seen any outbreaks.”
Johnson did not provide specifics on the status of the infected staff members, but said that when a staff member tests positive, they remain home until cleared by New Hampshire health authorities to return to work. “Any potentially impacted programs are placed on enhanced protocols, which may include tighter restrictions and additional PPE. In addition, we alert the appropriate staff and guardians of potential exposure,” he said.
The initial COVID-19 outbreak on campus resulted in three residents and 11 staff testing positive and one resident dying of the disease at the end of March.
“Crotched Mountain remains indebted to its professional and compassionate staff who have worked so hard to combat COVID-19 and help minimize its impact on our campus. We remain in regular communication with state health authorities throughout,” Johnson said.
Pheasant Wood Center reported no positive cases after all residents and staff were tested over the past two weeks. Resident and staff testing were mandated by the state, representative Lori Mayer said, with Hillsborough County facilities a higher focus due to case numbers countywide.
RiverMead and Jaffrey Rehabilitation and Nursing Center staff members were tested at RiverMead on May 16.
There were no positive COVID-19 tests among the staff of the Jaffrey Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, administrator Patrick Lyons said on Wednesday. All residents were tested on Tuesday and are awaiting results, he said, but no residents are showing symptoms of any sort, he said, nor family members of employees. RiverMead staff and residents at the health center all returned negative tests, CEO Bill James said.
