PeterboroghBridge now closed

Peterborough’s Main Street Bridge closed to all vehicle traffic as of Monday, April 27.

The south sidewalk will remain open until the temporary pedestrian bridge is installed. Weather permitting, work conducted in the first half of May will include striping and painting Main Street and its parking spaces, removing stone and installing drainage upgrades at the Centertown (northwest) corner of the bridge, locating a water line and removing a hydrant at Centertown, removing a wall near the library and constructing foundations for the pedestrian bridge. Underground canal rehabilitation work will close Veterans Way for about two weeks in May, exact dates to be determined.
