Conant track and field coach Bill Edson plans to hold a Zoom meeting Thursday at 7 p.m. for athletes dealing with disappointment following the spring sports season cancellation.
Edson said the webinar will be a “locker room” conversation with special guest panelists to provide encouragement, suggestions, and hope to help athletes and coaches move forward through this unprecedented time.
Guest panelists include:
■Don Paige, an Olympic-class 800m runner with a variety of records who endured his own disappointment during the United States’ boycott of the Moscow Summer Olympic Games in 1980.
■Thomas Valles, longtime running coach and a real-life member of the infamous McFarland high school team that won their first California state championship as depicted in the popular film “McFarland USA.”
