ConVal will have a graduation ceremony this year, Superintendent Dr. Kimberly Rizzo Saunders said in a video update on Friday, but it remains uncertain whether the school would proceed with an alternative ceremony on the same day, or change the date. “We will find a way to have a graduation ceremony,” she said, and the Governor is expected to make a decision regarding whether to continue remote learning through the end of the school year or not around April 17. “If it’s at all possible, we will let you know prior to his announcement,” she said.

Rizzo Saunders also directed viewers to the new Remote Learning page on the school district website. Information on school communications, online resources for specific grade levels and virtual field trip options, and the latest information on meal services are available on the site, Rizzo Saunders said.

The new site comes after the wrap-up of a survey to parents about the first two weeks of remote learning. Some parents indicated a desire for a more centralized source of information and resources from the school. This Wednesday marks the end of the fourth week of remote learning for ConVal schools.

Earlier in the week, high school faculty and staff  collaborated on a photo compilation which spelled out the lyrics to the ConVal fight song, one word at a time. “We are all in this together. We will get through this together. We miss you and hope to see you soon!” the entry on the school’s website said.
