Conant High School and Jaffrey-Rindge Middle School Principal Brett Blanchard has submitted his resignation to the district, effective at the end of the school year.

In his resignation letter, dated March 9, Blanchard said he is leaving the district to take a position at another school district closer to family.ย

The Mapleย Run Unified School District announced on its website the same day thatย Blanchard is the new principal of the Bellows Free Academy, located in St. Albans, Vermont.

โ€œIt has been rewarding to see the vast amount of work accomplished by the staff and I will depart impressed at how focused and student-centered their efforts were throughout this year,โ€ Blanchard wrote in his resignation letter. โ€œWhat I will deeply miss will be the daily interactions with the amazing students of both schools; it has been a privilege and a joy to work with all of them.โ€

Blanchard has offered to work with his replacement on training district procedures, if they are selected prior to his final day of Juneย 30.

Blanchard did not return phone calls from the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript attempting to reach him for comment Wednesday.ย

Blanchardโ€™s tenure in the Jaffrey-Rindge School district was brief, starting in July of 2018, coming from a principalship at Fair Haven Union High School in Vermont, where he was principal for 11 years.ย Prior to that, he was employed at Poultney High School, where he was a Social Studies teacher and Dean of Students.ย ย
